The Institute of Texan Cultures (ITC), a museum located on the HemisFair Park Campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio, was established in 1965 by the 59th Texas Legislature. The Office of Communications and Marketing was responsible for the publication of the ITC's newsletter The Texican as well as the creation of press releases reporting on news of the Institute of Texan Cultures museum. The University of Texas at San Antonio was established in 1969.
